9 / 2000 Free Agent Eluder Pro BMX (20")
Well I've gone and done it! Got myself a second hand bmx bike for a bit of dirt action. A colleague of mine at work used to be into bmx in his younger years and is looking to get back into it. So i thought I'd join him. I have had abit of experience with an Eastern Thunderbird 26" dirt jumper in the past but I think this bike will be better for a beginner. Plus it'll help us both get fitter. I've got Castle Hill BMX track near my place and he's got one near his. We're also planning to take a group of guys camping over to Glenbrook National Park (Blue Mountains) and looking to give the bikes a good bash over there. Also get some photography in which will be great for me and Wally (the other photo nut!).
These are some of the specs on the bike followed by some pictures. The thing is still in my car as it was bucketing down raining when I got back home with it. Once I get it onto the workstand and have a better look at it then I'll be able to update the information. But first impressions look pretty good. Looks like it has been kept well.
Top tube 20.75 inches, Eluder light aluminium pro size frame, Tuff Neck handle bars with original grips, original Free Agent seat, Tuff Neck chain tensioners, HJC light weight and true wheels with 20 x 1.75 tyres (front Free Agent), 1 piece chro-mo crank with Eluder chain ring.

Fred Caterson Reserve - Castle Hill
...and this is where I'll be taking it for it's first proper ride, once I've learned to balance and control it properly of course!
Initial Inspection - Things to fix straight away!
Kenda BMX Tyres 20x1.85 - K051 Comp 3 (x 2)
I don’t really know much about BMX
tyres but the existing Free Agent branded ones currently on the rims are
perishing slowly. They still pump up but are cracking up and I’m not sure how
long they will last, so I’m replacing them with these. All up they cost me $23
for the pair which I thought was a pretty good deal. The current tyres are 1.75
and these are slightly wider at 1.85. So I installed the new rubber, adjusted the brakes and tightened the chain
a bit. All set to go. Will install new Jagwire brake pads soon.
Jagwire Brake Pads
Brake pads are here but I have not as yet installed them. Been working on a couple of other projects, like my fixie and road bike. I'll get this sorted soon!
