Exercise time!
Ok there's no way of sugar coating this...I am super fat! Fattest I've been in my life! Pants are curling over at the top waist, shirts are not fitting properly, getting breathless, haven't done any exercise and am back on the sugar which is not good. So I have decided to put it all out there and get some video blogging going. I'll be loading them up on youtube for the world to see so there's no getting out of it now. My bikes are dusty with flat tyres and the bench press and sit up bench are covered in dirt and cobwebs. On the plus side the pool has recently been uncovered (after 3 years!) so I should be able to do laps or cool off after exercise which will be great! So lets get started fat man!!!
GoPro HERO+ for recording sessions and vlogging
So a while back on one of my Melbourne trips for work, I picked up an older model GoPro Hero+ for $100 and it was brand new and unused. As you can see I have fitted it with an after market extension arm (costed about $2). Basically this will allow me to hold the camera from the handlebars or when walking or running etc. Just the right length. Don't need a selfie stick. The arm is actually meant to be mounted to a helmet at the front so it hangs in front of your head. I'll be using this thing to document my progress.
GoPro Chesty Strap - Mainly for riding
I've also got a GoPro chest strap to attach to me whilst riding. I have in the past attached my Contour Roam 2 action cam to my top tube but found my legs got in the way of the view as all these action cams have a very wide angle screen. So this time I will be attaching it to my chest instead. Better view.
Canon PowerShot A1200 and Canon TRIPOD-1 mini tripod - photos and video
Now and then I will also be taking my trusty old Canon digital camera and my ultra rare Canon TRIPOD-1 mini tripod. This will allow me to take some photos and possibly some video from the side of the road etc. Just a bit of action showing me cycle, walk or run past etc. I would probably use a similar setup when I eventually get to bicycle tour!
Map My Ride - Cycling, Walking, Running log and stats
I'll be using Map My Ride together with my Samsung Galaxy S5 to log all my rides, walks and runs. I will also post screenshots and a few stats to monitor it all. As I get fitter the rides and walks may get longer so I may have to get the Goal Zero solar panel out to place on the back pannier rack or hang off my backpack to keep the phone charged.
