Asahi Pentax K1000 35mm SLR Camera - bought November 2017!!
Yep, I’ve gone and done it again. I really regretted selling my K1000 SE years ago. So I picked up this Pentax K1000 camera for only $30 from a seller who didn’t really know what they were doing. When I picked it up the seller said to me that other people had called and they were offering three to four times the asking price and said that I had gotten a bit of a bargain! The camera came with a crappy Tokina zoom lens that was full of dust so I’ll be getting rid of that quick smart. Upon inspection it looks great and it appears the rubber strip on the mirror is quite new. It also came with the original strap and the bottom half of the leather case. Everything on the camera works fine. The light meter battery was dead so I swapped it out for a brand new Energizer silver oxide battery. Meter works great now. This camera may be made in Japan or Hong Kong but I am unsure.
Asahi Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 Prime Lens
Shortly after purchasing the camera I got onto the web again and found an SMC Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4 lens in pristine condition for $100. So I snapped that up too. I previously had a 50mm f/1.8 but this will do. In fact I think it is better.
Pentax Strap (late model)
SAGA 49mm UV Filter
Pentax Centre Pinch 49mm Lens Cap
I bought this lens cap as a replacement for the existing cap. The existing cap fits over the lens without filter. Once you add a filter it no longer sits right and is too loose. So I replaced it with a more secure unit.
Lens Cap Holder Buckle
This is a bit big for the strap but works fine. It keeps the cap safe whilst using the camera. Cost about $3.00 from China.
