Apple iPhone 4 3G
This is a great device for taking photos. Most of the photos for my build up of my bikes were taken with the iphone. So I thought I'd include a page on the photography section. We were recently on holidays at Terrigal beach on the Central Coast of NSW. My wife took the boys over to catch some waves and I had some time to myself. The sky was so clear and blue so I got the phone out. See below for some really clear shots that the iPhone can produce.
iphone 5 Video - Running Art
We were out in the city for dinner the other night and then headed over to the Wentworth for some coffee and dessert. Their in-house artist latest creation was on display. Basically it is video art. Shows three figures running on a constant loop. Daniel Craig from Bond, Tom Cruise from Vanilla Sky (I think) and Cary Grant from North by Northwest. I thought it was awesome and couldn't stop looking at it. Cary Grants was the most realistic and was my favorite of the three. Recorded using my wife's iphone 5 and then sent to my iphone 4 then uploaded.
iPhone 5 - Early 50's-60's Volkswagen Beetle, Northmead, NSW - 15/11/2014
Now and then I catch up with my mate early on a Saturday morning for a ride and a run. We always ride past this car and I can't stop looking at it. It has so much character. I like the small details like the headlight eyelids and also the old school right indicator mounted onto the b-pillar. and those wheels would come up nice when restored. This vehicle appears to have been untouched since new and I liked the style. The only modern component was the historic registration plates. Every time I see it I just want to take it home. It was still very early morning so there weren't a lot of harsh shadows and the light was decent but could have been a touch brighter. I'm planning on coming back with the 5D for some better shots but for now the iPhone will have to do!
iPhone 5 - St Mary's Towers, Douglas Park, NSW - 16/11/2014
On the weekend my mom stayed over at this retreat center for some spiritual prayer thingy which she really enjoyed. I drove over to pick her up at around 3pm on a Sunday. Was about an hours drive from where I lived. I had never heard of Douglas Park before so was curious to check it out. It is a 500 acre property with such beautiful grounds and the old sandstone buildings and trees were great. The grounds are maintained by two catholic brothers and they use a couple of beat up unregistered cars to tow trailers around the site for their maintenance work. My mom is planning on heading over there twice a year so I'll take the 5D over next time.
Bikes around the City - Sydney (iPhone 5)
Red Cafe - Windsor NSW - S&P Shakers (iphone 5)
Saw there cute salt and pepper shakers which was in the shape of a Russian doll toy. Thought it was very clever. Every table had one.
